Update : Framing

Imagining the future.

Imagining the future.

The crazy thing about building a house is that some things happen really really slow, and others seem to happen really fast. We designed and schemed for over a year, waited for permits and bank approval for months, and in a matter of weeks our house has gone from a bare foundation to framing in the shape of our dreams.  We can actually wander around the space and imagine what the rooms will feel like and what it will be like to live in this home we helped design. Mind. Blown.

What it actually look like right now.

Of course there are still several optical illusions at play. I know from experience how much the feeling of a space can change going from framed, to enclosed to dry wall and finally paint. You really can get a sense for a space until the very end.

So far we have had a few realizations about the space, the biggest of which is how amazing the upstairs terrace is. While it was inspired by our travels in Morocco and all the amazing terraces they have there, we spent so much time focusing on the living spaces I feel like we almost forgot about it. Luckily our architect had our back, and I think its going to end up being one of the best spots in the house.

I suspect things will slow down a bit going forward. The next big thing is the windows and doors. Look for an update on that next month, in the meantime make sure you follow me on Instagram and Snapchat (TheCreede) for more regular updates.
