This 2005 house designed by KRDB was way ahead of its time. It was featured in Dwell magazine and the original sales price was $265k. Fast forward almost 20 years and it still looks great, and it still feels like a good deal at the current price.

This 2013 modern build looks like KRDB to my eye, though I can’t confirm it. It’s a good example of what does and does not age well. The architecture is still good but some of those finishes and fixtures just haven’t aged well at all. A good reminder that less is more. That being said, there’s a ton of value for the money here.

Raw CMU aka “cinder blocks” have become a bit of a calling card for KRDB. Built in 2006 this must have been one of their earlier works of theirs, but it still looks as relevant as ever. Same goes for those 1x1 mosaics in the bathroom, let’s get back to that please.

Well deserved kudos to KRDB on this project that is now over 15 years old and still looks great. Back in 2005 when this was built modern architecture was still niche and coming out of some dark post modern / contemporary years, but you wouldn’t know it at all looking at this house.

Shout out to KRDB. This house is almost 20 years old and looks better than a lot of “modern” homes still being built in east Austin. Also a hat tip to the owners for their impeccable taste in art. Great modern home with bonus guest apartment in the back.
